Rules and Regulations

General Rules and Student Conduct

  1. Irregular attendance, habitual inattention to schoolwork, obscenity in word or action, insubordination, cheating, violation of diary rules, misconduct or behaviour considered harmful to the good tone and general welfare of the school will not be tolerated.
  2. Class captains must ensure that lights and fans are switched off when the classroom is vacated. Waste paper and other litter must be placed in the bins provided.
  3. During the transition between teachers, students must avoid idle talk and disturbance. They should await the next teacher quietly, stand and greet the teacher upon entry.
  4. Students may not receive visitors or make or receive telephone calls during class hours except for serious reasons.
  5. Parents should not disturb classes during school hours. Parent–teacher meetings are arranged during the year and, when necessary, on working Saturdays between 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
  6. Birthday celebrations and parties are not permitted at school.
  7. Collections of money or items for any purpose require prior permission from the Principal. Students may not present gifts to staff members on any occasion.
  8. Children should not attend parties, visit the cinema or go to a friend’s house on their way home from school without permission.
  9. For safety, students must not put their hands or heads through the protective bars of bus windows or stand on the footboard.
  10. Punctuality and discipline should be the watchwords of every student. Students must report on time and move briskly and responsibly.
  11. Every student must carry their school almanac and identity card each day.
  12. Mobile phones are not permitted at school and will be confiscated if brought to the campus.
  13. All boys, except Sikh boys, must keep their hair short. Girls must tie their hair neatly with a green band. Non-Sikh boys should have their hair cut at regular intervals.
  14. No books other than textbooks or library books, magazines or papers may be brought to school without permission.
  15. The school reserves the right to take corrective action where academic progress is unsatisfactory or conduct is harmful to other students.
  16. Students must keep classrooms, school buildings and the campus clean and place all waste and leftovers in dustbins.
  17. As the school educates children from Nursery to Class XII, juniors should be treated with love and affection, while juniors should show respect to seniors. Harmony must be maintained between all age groups.
  18. Students must not use unfair means during examinations or cooperate in any act of violence that may harm another student physically or mentally.
  19. The school provides equipment for sports activities during games periods. Students may not bring personal balls, bats or similar sports equipment to school without permission.

Leave Rules

  1. No leave will be granted without the sanction of the Principal.
  2. After an absence, the student must submit the prescribed leave form on the day they rejoin school.
  3. If a student remains absent continuously for 10 days without sanctioned leave, their name may be struck off the class register.
  4. Every leave application must be signed by a parent or guardian.

Admission Rules

  1. The school is open for admission to boys and girls from Nursery to Class XII. Medical, Non-Medical, Commerce and Humanities streams are available for Classes XI and XII. Management reserves the right to accept or refuse an admission application.
  2. Fees and other charges once deposited will not be refunded.
  3. The registered date of birth and spellings of the student’s and parents’ names will not be altered later.
  4. Candidates applying for admission from K.G. to Class XII are ordinarily required to take an entrance assessment at the beginning of the academic year. Students should bring pens and pencils; no special book is required. Assessment will cover the standard below the class for which admission is sought.
  5. Skills may be assessed in English, Mathematics and Science.
  6. Admission is based on merit, vacancies, academic performance, co-curricular participation and the general conduct of the child.
  7. A candidate who has attended a recognised school must provide a School Leaving Certificate. For a school outside Punjab, the certificate must be countersigned by the appropriate Education Officer. A migration certificate is required when the previous class was completed under another board.
  8. A School Leaving Certificate will be issued only after all dues have been cleared.
  9. The school may suspend or dismiss a student whose conduct is harmful to others. Grave insubordination, contempt of authority, objectionable activity, rude or disorderly behaviour, bullying, violence, wilful damage to school property or repeated violation of the code of conduct may result in immediate suspension; repetition may lead to dismissal with intimation to parents.
